In the last update, it was noted that site development had commenced with site surveying and installation of silt and tree protection fencing. With the excellent weather conditions this fall, crews are near completion of the major earthmoving operations to facilitate drainage and research plot construction. Crews will continue to work as long as possible before weather conditions deem it necessary to stop work for the winter.

Over the past week, drainage installation has begun for the greens research areas adjacent to Cutten Fields Golf Club, as well as preliminary shaping of the irrigation pond area. The research plot construction process is scheduled to be completed in spring 2017 with seeding and turf grow-in maintenance to follow.

Special Note for Arboretum Users: Please note that the trail system that runs through the construction area will be temporarily closed until research plot construction is complete. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will work in coordination with Arboretum staff to advise users when the trail loop is open again. We appreciate your understanding and co-operation during this period of construction.
