Canadian Turf Talks

The Guelph Turfgrass Institute is stepping a toe into a new communications technology by launching a podcast. Canadian Turf Talks is co-hosted by GTI Communications Coordinator, Dr. Sara Stricker and a member of the turfgrass industry, Reg Langen. The first season consists of six episodes which will be released every other Friday on Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify starting November 25, 2022. Each episode interviews a person from the Canadian turfgrass industry, with the goal of showcasing the diverse perspectives and life experiences. Whether you're interested in lawncare, sod, golf, sportsfields, or municipal greenspaces, you can tune in to Canadian Turf Talks for advice on recruiting staff, maintaining a work/life balance, and more.

A survey by Landscape Ontario reported 76% of respondents experienced labour shortages in 2021, a trend which is echoed in the other sectors of the Canadian turf industry as well. The need for skilled workers is at an all time high. This podcast aims to shine a spotlight on turfgrass management in Canada and share our love for beautiful green spaces with the world.

How can you help? Follow, share, repost, and leave reviews for the podcast to amplify our message.
