At the Guelph Turfgrass Institute (GTI), our mission is focused on advancing education, research, and outreach in the turfgrass industry. While we are deeply committed to supporting students, alumni, and industry stakeholders in their professional development, managing a job posting board falls outside of our core mandate. You might wonder why we don’t have a job board, especially since we receive many requests from alumni and industry partners to share employment opportunities.
Our primary role at GTI is to provide top-tier education through programs like the Diploma in Turfgrass Management, conduct leading-edge research in turfgrass science, and offer outreach initiatives to foster the growth of the industry. Maintaining a job board would require dedicated resources that could detract from our ability to focus on these key areas. The good news is that several of our industry partners already provide excellent job boards. These organizations are well-equipped to connect job seekers with employers in a way that’s both efficient and up-to-date. They have dedicated platforms and teams that keep these listings current, ensuring job opportunities reach the right audiences. By directing you to these partners, we ensure that you have access to the most comprehensive and reliable job postings, without diverting our efforts away from our core objectives.

How the GTI can help: Although the GTI doesn't host its own job board, we understand the importance of connecting talented professionals with opportunities in the turfgrass industry. We are happy to spread the word about job openings through our GuelphTurf social media platforms on LinkedIn and X/Twitter. If you're looking to share a job opportunity with our #GuelphTurf audience, simply send us a short description (maximum 280 characters, no attachments) of the position, including your contact information. We'll then copy and paste your message into our #GuelphTurf LinkedIn and X accounts. If you've already posted the job advertisement on your business account, you can send us that link and we may be able to like or re-share the posting. Please note that these will be shared as soon as our Communications Coordinator is able to, and their workload will vary over the season. We cannot offer any guarantee about the speed/timing on our social media channels.
