Outreach

At the Guelph Turfgrass Institute (GTI), outreach is a core part of our mission. We are committed to sharing research, practical knowledge, and best management practices with the people who manage and enjoy turfgrass across Canada and beyond.

Our team works closely with industry partners, municipalities, sports organizations, golf courses, sod producers, lawn care professionals, and homeowners to ensure that the latest research is translated into practical solutions. We contribute to the turf industry through magazine articles, technical publications, conference presentations, workshops, webinars, podcasts, field days, and educational events. By working with professional associations, government agencies, researchers, and industry leaders, we help address emerging challenges, promote environmental stewardship, and support innovation across all sectors of the turfgrass industry.

  • Public Speaking & Expert Engagement

    • GTI faculty and staff are recognized experts who regularly present at conferences, workshops, webinars, and professional development events across Canada and internationally. We are also available for media interviews and expert commentary on topics related to turfgrass science, environmental stewardship, sports fields, golf courses, lawn care, plant health, and sustainable management.
  • Magazine Articles & Trade Publications

    • Our team contributes regularly to industry magazines, newsletters, and online publications. These articles communicate current research, summarize educational events, highlight emerging issues, and provide practical, evidence-based recommendations that turf professionals can apply in the field.
  • Industry Partnerships & Educational Resources

    • The GTI works collaboratively with industry associations, government agencies, and corporate partners to develop educational resources and training materials. Together, we create technical guides, best management practice resources, videos, manuals, webinars, and other learning tools that support professional development and promote the adoption of sustainable turfgrass management practices.
  • Custom Workshops & Training

    • The GTI can develop bespoke workshops, training days, and educational programs tailored to the needs of your organization. Whether you're looking for hands-on demonstrations, classroom instruction, field tours, or a combination of learning formats, our experts can create customized training on topics such as turfgrass management, integrated pest management, soils, irrigation, sports fields, golf course management, environmental stewardship, and more.
